![]() Hi ladies and gents! The hot summer weather can bring sweat, humidity and increased oiliness. This can lead to a higher chance of clogged pores and breakouts! Take a look at some of my favorite masks that will really get those pores unclogged and that skin popping. Click 'Read More' below to see more!

![]() 1. BRAID SPRAY – most obvious and easiest tip of them all. If you have dry itchy scalp from your braids or just want to keep things a little fresher, braid spray is essential. You can find braid spray at any local beauty supply store. I regularly spray my hair daily if not multiple times a day to provide moisture and relieve itchiness. 2. OIL SPRAY – if you have seen any of my hair care videos (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2QEASLA7lZY) I love OILS. They are a staple in my hair care routine. I believe oiling the scalp when you have braids really helps prevent breakage and promote hair growth while having braids. No one has time to oil the scalp around each individual braid. That’s why I enjoy oil spray; you can just spray down your scalp in sections and rub it in. Much quicker and efficient. ![]() 3. Satin Wrap/Bonnet – I still wear a satin wrap every night I go to sleep to keep my edges/braids protected at night and to prolong the wear of the hair. You can find cheap hair wraps at your local beauty supply store. It takes two seconds to put on a wrap at night. I just braid all of my hair in one giant loose braid, secure the end and wrap my hair (making sure my edges are hidden). 4. WASH/CONDITION YOUR HAIR – I have to admit I’m not as consistent with this as I should be however, even though you have braids you should still be washing and conditioning your hair. I try to wash and condition my hair, mostly focusing on my scalp at least once a week. You do not want product build-up and your hair to become too dry. I do not have an extensive wash day routine, I just simply wash and condition. Then I let my hair sit up in a towel for about an hour or two and let the rest air dry. Easy peasy. *TIP: Please do not wear your hair style for more than 2 months at the most. You want to get the most out of your protective style and take advantage of retaining your hair. You do not want to deal with breakage, alopecia and matting due to wearing your hairstyle too long. I plan on taking my hair out at 6 weeks due to some of the issues with the install. What are some your favorite braid care tips? Please share.
